The WORLD TOP MODEL USA - DMV Pays Homage to the Beauty & Fashion Industry in the DMV for the 2nd Year in a Row!

The World Top Model Competition in the DMV! 

On Saturday November 19, 2022 The World Top Model USA-DMV held their 2nd Model Competition in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. This event was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel 7400 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda MD.  This elegant event featured some of the best teen to young adult models in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.  The World Top Model Competition USA-DMV event is a series of several World Top Model Competitions held all over the world.  The Model that wins from each Competition will then go on to compete for the Title in a Final Competition. 

The History

In 1990, the World Top Model Competition held its first Competition in Zurich, Switzerland.  31 years later this event has been hosted in over 10 Global Capitals to include locations such as Milan, Monte Carlo, Berlin, Palm de Mallorca, Rome, Zanzibar, Gothenburg, Lugano, Prague and Budapest.  World Top Model USA DMV

The CEO and President of the World Top Model Competition is Mr. Fiore Tondi.

The Competition

Female Models ages 16 through 26 are encouraged to register for this competition event.  Models will be judged in several categories to include Swim wear and Evening Wear.  The models are then judged based on a variety of criteria, to include, Posing and Runway walk.  

The objective of the World Top Model Competition Event is to highlight the importance Models play in the fashion industry.  This event also pays homage to both Beauty and Fashion. (World Top Model USA DMV)

The Extraordinary Individuals responsible for holding this event in the DMV area have worked tirelessly on producing this show.  Fashion, Fun and Entertainment come together on this night and history once again is made for The World Top Model Competition in the DMV area.

ALL ROADS Lead to World Top Model USA- DMV November 19, 2022

The Savvy Event Guru had the pleasure of not only attending and covering this Competition event but also the pleasure of attending each Model Call event held for this competition. The first Model Call Event was held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Lima Twist Restaurant on K Street in Washington DC.  The second Model Call event was held on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at WHINO in Arlington, VA.  At each Model Call event, each model brought their BEST "A" Game!  

This Year's Event Focus

The Mental Health of Individuals has been a focus in this country for over decades now and is on the forefront of everyone's mind when something drastic and/or tragic occurs around the world.  I believe that much of a person's mental health has plenty to do with the trauma one has experienced, as well as some health issues that may not have been diagnosed yet.  

With this heaviness in the word the World Top Model USA-DMV organization felt it was necessary to focus on the Mental Health Crisis for this year's event and brought in Dr. Soyini Richards, Business Psychologist, Professor and Mental Health Coach. 

The Opinion:

As a 16+ year veteran in the Event Planning Industry, I know that producing your own show. can be challenging at times and very stressful.  No one truly knows what goes on behind the scenes and behind the stage after LIGHTS & then ACTION is called!  There are so many moving parts and its imperative that you work with the right team to pull an event off such as this!

The World Top Model USA - DMV Competition Event location was very sophisticated and attractive. The Hotel offered several spaces, on multiple floors which allowed for a good flow of events.  I LOVED the Event Space floor plan that was used for this event. It definitely gave me an Award Show feeling! 

The floral arrangements by Sol Event Floral were beautiful and the food & food display by La Belle Catering was   debonair.  

The Visuals on Stage were stylish and elegant and spoke Hollywood!

The Fashion

The WTM Competition Event included Fashion designs by Malcolm Staples, Ramona, Kelsy Dominick, Sonia Gabarino and Swim wear by designer Emily Gonzaga.  The Models looked amazing in the attire. Each model brought personality to the runway!  I personally loved the Evening Wear category!

The Entertainment 

The Entertainment was phenomenal as well.  Music was provided by DJ MegaWatt with a performance by The Gem Fatales at intermission to include a closing performer as well. The choice of entertainment was diverse and refreshing. 

And The Winner is!!!

The evening would not be complete without the competition and of course a winner. Though there were several Runner-Ups, there could only be 1 Winner.  The 2022 Winner of the World Top Model USA - DMV Competition was Ms. Samantha Martinez.

Samantha, slayed the Runway in all categories and the judges were moved by her talent.  Congratulations to Samantha on her Win!  

Six of the other Competitors won a scholarship to a Modeling School in Italy.  This gives each of the 6 participants an amazing opportunity to learn and work on their craft in what some would call paradise!  Congratulations ladies!
