ALL SMILES for The NEW 2019-2020 JR. PRE-TEEN NATIONAL AMERICAN MISS PENNSYLVANIA ......

...Ms. SOPHIA HELAINA from Perkasie, Pennsylvania!!

The weekend of August 1 - August 3, 2019 ALL Jr. Pre-Teen Contestants from both New Jersey and Pennsylvania gathered for the 2019 National American Miss Pageant at The Hyatt Regency Hotel In New Brunswick, NJ!  It was yet that time again to CROWN the next Jr. Pre-teen National American Miss!!

7 year old Sophia Helaina from Perkasie, PA, had no idea that her name would be called to receive this honor!  All the hard work that Sophia and her parents put in, had paid off!

The NEW 2019-2020 JR-PRE-TEEN National American Miss Pennsylvania is Ms. Sophia Helaina!  All the cheers and tears that were shed at this moment for this 7 year old second grader from Pennsylvania were well warrant and this was a special moment for Sophia at the NAM Pageant!

The National American Miss Pageant was founded in 2003, the NAM Pageant is a pageant that was created to Grow Confidence and Create REAL WORLD SKILLS in girls ages 4 - 16!  (www.namiss.com) NAM celebrates America’s greatness and the individuality of American girls. It is a program centered around helping young ladies grow and expand their ideas about who they are and what they want to achieve. (www.namiss.com) 

BIG WINNINGS

Sophia was a busy lady at this year's National American Miss Pageant and her hard work was noticed by the judges in the pageant as well.  

Sophia Helaina WON 3 1st RUNNER SPOTS in the Casual Wear Competition, Actress Competition and Most Promising Model Competition.  Sophia also walked away with an AWARD  for BEST THANK YOU NOTE and THE SPIRIT of AMERICA.  She was 2nd RUNNER for the Talent Competition and she WON the MISS PERSONALITY AWARD for being the most outgoing and friendly towards others!  

But Sophia's friendliness towards others started long before this day....

The BEGINNING

Sophia always knew that she wanted to help others.  It was something that was long ago instilled in her by her parents.  At the tender age of 1 years old, Sophia began volunteering with L'il Angels Consignment Sale.  The L'il Angels is a Community event that takes place twice a year where families sign up to sell their gently used clothing and children's toys, etc. This event gives back to the community also by having food drives and partnering with other organizations that help families in need! 

Sophia has also volunteered at Sunday Mission Breakfast events, which provide meals to the homeless.

She even took the initiative to put together her own "Kindness Bags" as she calls them, and she gave away new stuff animals to the children. Sophia is some kind of special! 

Such a busy little lady, Sophia's heart is big and she's always thinking of others.  Currently this National American Miss Pennsylvania has started collecting crayons, markers and color pencils, to create care packages  for children in near by hospitals. Not to mention, Sophia does this all with her own money! 

Her end goal is to supply the care packages for 4-5 hospitals located in Pennsylvania.  Sophia is the gift that keeps on giving!!  

Sophia's work of helping others only aided her in her quest to become the next NEW National American Miss.  The other 50% came from all her training in the SPOTLIGHT!!

ACTION... YOUR ON!

One's stage presence is very important if you chose to live the life in the spotlight.  I believe that the more of something you do the better you get at it and that is what Sophia did!

In February 2018 Sophia participated in Philadelphia's Fashion Week and she walked the RUNWAY for a local designer, by the name of Elizabeth Delgado.  In February 2019 Sophia paired up with Philly Kids Fashion Week and walked in a Pre-New York Fashion Week show and she then turned around in June of this year and walked again in Philadelphia Fashion Week.  She is such a busy girl on the Runway!

Sophia does not only participate in Fashion Shows, but she is also a gymnast and a competitive dancer.

Sophia's ability to shine does not stop with dancing, doing flips and walking in fashion shows; Sophia also takes part in the Memorial Day Parade and the 4th of July, Independence Parade in her home town.

This is not Sophia's first time participating in the National American Miss Pageant!  She participated for the 1st time in the National American Miss Pageant in 2018 as a Princess, in the Princess division. Sophia, placed 1st Runner Up in the Talent Competition, 1st Runner Up for "Best Thank You Note" and WON The "Artist Contest" which placed Sophia 4th RUNNER UP over all in the Pageant Competition! This is an amazing honor, considering the fact that this is Sophia's very first pageant! 

 

  

 

 

Sophia also participated in a "East Coast Pageant" in May of this year and she was 2nd RUNNER Up!  WOW, This is such an remarkable honor for a hard working, photogenic 7 year old going to the Second grade!

"Girls Just Want to Have Fun"

With all the hard work that Sophia and her pageant friends put in, its always great to have a little fun while you work!!  Many of the rehearsals that are held for the young ladies are often themed events!  Don't be surprise if you see the young pageant contestants involved in a "Neon Party" "Rose Gold" or "Pajama Party" Rehearsal event!

Sophia had the wonderful opportunity of attending a "Day At Disney" event with her pageant friends!!  The girls got to meet some of the Disney characters and take photos in front of some of the great scenery located in the Disney park. So this pageant life is NOT all WORK and NO PLAY!! 

Future Plans

Sophia's love for people and helping others goes further than one could imagine.  In the future Sophia plans to become a Doctor.  With her experience of creating care packages with crayons, marketers, etc for children in local hospitals and her future goals of supplying Care-Packages to 4-5 hospitals outside of her hometown area, but within the state of Pennsylvania, Sophia will have  plenty of hospitals to choose from in the future.

WHAT'S NEXT for the NEW 2019-2020 Jr. Pre-Teen National American Miss Pennsylvania

The National American Miss Pennsylvania is headed to The NATIONALS in Anaheim, California to Compete with the other 53 state Jr. Pre-Teen National American Miss Contestants in November 2019!!
